Thực hiện ý kiến chỉ đạo của Thủ tướng Chính phủ và lãnh đạo Bộ Công an về việc tiếp tục thực hiện “tự động gia hạn tạm trú” cho người nước ngoài bị ảnh hưởng bởi dịch Covid-19 chưa thể xuất cảnh, Cục Quản lý xuất nhập cảnh thông báo

1. Người nước ngoài nhập cảnh theo diện miễn thị thực, nhập cảnh bằng thị thực điện tử hoặc thị thực du lịch từ ngày 01/3/2020 đến nay tiếp tục được “tự động gia hạn tạm trú” đến hết ngày 31/7/2020, có thể xuất cảnh trong thời gian trên mà không phải làm gia hạn tạm trú.

2. Trường hợp người nước ngoài nhập cảnh trước ngày 01/3/2020 nếu chứng minh được bị mắc kẹt do dịch Covid-19, được Cơ quan đại diện ngoại giao xác nhận bằng Công hàm (có bản dịch tiếng Việt) hoặc có văn bản xác nhận của cấp có thẩm quyền Việt Nam về việc bị cách ly, điều trị Covid-19 hoặc vì lý do bất khả kháng khác… cũng được xem xét áp dụng “tự động gia hạn tạm trú” đến hết ngày 31/7/2020 (phải xuất trình Công hàm hoặc văn bản xác nhận nêu trên khi xuất cảnh).

3. Người nước ngoài trong thời gian được “tự động gia hạn tạm trú” phải khai báo tạm trú và khai báo y tế theo quy định.

4. Người nước ngoài không thuộc trường hợp nêu trên hoặc có các vi phạm pháp luật khác, thực hiện theo quy định hiện hành của pháp luật Việt Nam.

VIETNAM GRANTS AUTOMATIC VISA EXTENSION FOR FOREIGNERS UNTIL JULY 31, 2020

Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership on the continuation of the “automatic extension of temporary residence” for foreigners affected by the Covid-19 epidemic that cannot leave the country yet, Administration Immigration notice:

1. Foreigners who entered Vietnam on visa waiver, e-visa or tourist visa from March 1, 2020 are entitled to automatic visa extension until July 31, 2020 and can depart from Vietnam during this period without having to apply for an extension of stay.

2. Foreigners who entered Vietnam before March 1, 2020 will also be considered for an automatic extension through July 31, 2020 as long as they can prove that he/she cannot leave the country due to COVID-19. In these cases they need certification by their diplomatic mission in Vietnam through an official diplomatic note with a translation in Vietnamese; or there is a written confirmation from the Vietnamese authorities of the isolation, treatment of Covid-19 or other force majeure reasons … (must present the above note or confirmation document on exit).

3. During the automatic visa extension period, foreigners are required to complete temporary residence and health status declaration.

4. Those who do not fall under these categories or have committed illegal actions have to abide with the existing laws on immigration.
